WHAT IS A LOLER OR THOROUGH EXAMINATION?
Thorough Examination is a legal requirement
PUWER and LOLER regulations legally require all lift trucks to have a valid Certificate of Thorough Examination.
A Thorough Examination or LOLER is like a car’s MOT. Both a Thorough Examination and an MOT are means of certifying that all components which have a bearing on safety have been formally inspected and assessed as being in a safe condition.
Only companies that are accredited to CFTS are allowed to use the distinctive “Kitemark” on literature, certification and reports – and to place the famous CFTS stickers on the trucks they inspect.
You can rest assured that any Report of Thorough Examination bearing the official CFTS mark has been carried out by an experienced, accredited examiner in accordance with stringent standards and quality procedures.
CFTS is a national standard guaranteed to fulfil your obligations under both LOLER 98 & PUWER 98.
To steer you through the many differences between LOLER 98 and PUWER 98 requirements, CFTS has developed a range of interactive guides for different fork lift vehicles to show you exactly what is covered by each of these regulations. Click Here
